NASA Human Exploration Rover Challenge 2025
Magnetude Robotics recently had the honor of traveling to Huntsville, Alabama to participate in the prestigious Human Exploration Rover Challenge, hosted by NASA. Competing in the High School RC division, this marked our team’s first year entering the competition.
We are proud to share that we placed 4th internationally: a remarkable achievement for our first appearance. This milestone reflects the dedication, innovation, and perseverance of our team.
As we continue to refine our skills and push the boundaries of what we can accomplish, we are deeply grateful for the ongoing support of our community, sponsors, and mentors. Your encouragement plays a vital role in our journey, and we look forward to reaching even greater heights together.
Our Safety Officer and Documentation Lead had the incredible opportunity to meet and connect with fellow participants from Colombia, Bangladesh, Bolivia, and Dominican Republic. Moments like these remind us that STEM and innovation transcend borders, and we’re proud to be part of a global community of young engineers and innovators.

Magnetude Robotics recently competed at the Tennessee State Championships, held at Middle Tennessee State University. Their team, Magnetude Black, delivered an impressive performance — finishing 6th overall and taking home the Innovate Award for their inventive robot design.
Their standout feature? A creative grabbing mechanism paired with an autonomous "wiggle" procedure that allowed them to effectively score blocks — earning praise for both engineering and originality.
This marks a major leap forward from last year, their rookie season, where they placed 19th. With a 3x improvement in ranking, the team has shown just how much growth and innovation can happen in a single season.
We’re incredibly proud of Magnetude Black for pushing the limits and continuing to rise!
Magnetude Robotics placed 3rd Nationally at the Robot Drone League Competition: an incredible achievement for a team composed of all rookies! They also were awarded the Engineering Award for an outstanding notebook, as the judges praised their detail in documenting the design process, build iterations, and problem-solving strategies.
This year, Magnetude Robotics had the opportunity to travel to the Gaylord Opryland Convention Center to compete at the annual Tennessee Beta Convention. The 2024–2025 theme, Push, Lift, Pile, inspired the team to design a project centered around the use of robotics in hazardous mining environments.
To bring their vision to life, the team constructed an elaborate set made of large cardboard panels and foam, carefully painted grey to simulate a realistic underground mining setting. Every piece was hand-built and custom-designed—an effort that demanded both time and creativity.
While the team did not place in the competition, we are incredibly proud of their dedication, innovation, and teamwork. Their hard work reflects the spirit of resilience and passion that defines Magnetude Robotics.
Magnetude Robotics traveled to Middle Tennessee State University to compete in the FIRST Tech Challenge. This team, made up primarily of first-year students, demonstrated remarkable effort, perseverance, and teamwork throughout the event.
Although they did not place overall and got 3rd place for the Connect Award, we are tremendously proud of their hard work and growth. Their participation marked a valuable learning experience and laid a strong foundation for future success.
This is just the beginning for this rising team, and we look forward to see how they grow in future competitions!
